Sellular vs Profound
Both are about whether AI answers mention you. They work at opposite ends of the problem, and the honest version of this comparison is that most people only need one of them.
Profound is enterprise answer-engine monitoring. You give it prompts, it tracks how up to nine answer engines respond over time, and it sells that to marketing teams with a sales call and a custom quote. There is no published price.
Sellular works on the supply side. It fetches your site and scores what an answer engine can actually read from the served HTML, tells you which checks failed and why, and submits you to the directories and listings those engines cite. Prices are published: free, $5 a month, or $15 a month.
The distinction that matters: Profound tells you whether you are being named. Sellular works on whether you are findable and listed in the first place. Measuring a problem and fixing it are different purchases, and a monitoring tool will not add you to a single directory.
Side by side
| Sellular | Profound | |
|---|---|---|
| What it measures | What an answer engine can read from your served HTML, scored per check with the failing bytes quoted back to you. | How answer engines respond to prompts you supply, tracked over time. Their pricing page names ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, DeepSeek, Microsoft Copilot, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews and Exa Search. |
| Published price | Yes. Free, $5/month, $15/month, on the pricing page. | No figure on their pricing page: a free 7-day trial, then Enterprise at "Custom". |
| Gets you listed anywhere | Yes. Directory and marketplace submissions, with a Chrome auto-fill for the forms that have no API. | Not quoted: their pricing page does not claim this, and we are not guessing. |
| Driven by an agent | Full MCP server, so Claude can run the audit, read the failing checks and draft the fixes without you opening the dashboard. | Their pricing page mentions API access on Enterprise. Whether any of it is an MCP server we did not check. |
| Seats | Per account, not per seat. | Unlimited seats, stated on the trial plan. |
| SSO, SOC 2, dedicated support | None of them. | SSO/SAML and SOC 2 compliance, plus dedicated support, stated on Enterprise. |

When Profound is the better buy
- You need to know what answer engines are actually saying about your brand, across many prompts, tracked over months. That is Profound's whole job and Sellular does not do it.
- You need nine engines covered, or specific languages and regions. Sellular has no prompt tracking at all.
- You are a team that needs SSO/SAML, SOC 2, dedicated support, or CSV/JSON exports and API access for your own reporting.
- You have a budget for a custom enterprise quote and want a vendor who will get on a call. Sellular has a pricing page and no sales team.
- Your site is already clean and well listed, so the supply-side work Sellular does is already done. In that case measurement is the only thing left to buy.
Questions
- Is Sellular cheaper than Profound?
- Profound publishes no price. Read on 25 October 2026, their pricing page offers a free 7-day trial and then Enterprise at "Custom", so a comparison of figures is not possible and this page does not invent one. Sellular's prices are published: free, $5 a month, or $15 a month for the whole account.
- Does Sellular tell me whether ChatGPT mentions my product?
- It can show you which pages currently answer a query you care about and which brands those pages name, so you can see whose slot you are not in. It is not continuous prompt monitoring across nine engines, and it does not claim to be. If tracking brand mentions over time is what you need, that is what Profound sells.
- What does Sellular actually do, then?
- Two things. It fetches your site and scores what an answer engine can read from the served HTML, naming each failing check and quoting the bytes, so the report is checkable rather than a grade. And it submits you to the directories and listings that answer engines cite, including a Chrome auto-fill for forms with no API.
- Can Claude or another agent drive Sellular?
- Yes. Sellular ships an MCP server, so an agent can run the audit, read the failing checks, draft the fixes and prepare submissions without you opening the dashboard.
- Does Sellular score me on llms.txt?
- No, and it used to. The check was removed on 25 October 2026 because the evidence does not support it: Google said in 2025 it does not support llms.txt, and an Ahrefs study of 137,210 domains found 97% of llms.txt files received zero crawler requests. Sellular still generates the file if you want one. It just does not deduct points for not having it.
- When should I pick Profound instead?
- When you need continuous prompt tracking across many answer engines, SSO/SAML, SOC 2, dedicated support, or exports and API access for your own reporting. Sellular has none of those.
